My lessons build beginners from a point of zero-to-basic knowledge of their target language, to comfortably reading intermediate texts, participating in discussions, and understanding the majority of content they find online such as videos or podcasts. We will use a communicative approach founded upon comprehensible input, which research has shown is the most effective method for true acquisition of a language.

 

Pulling from my linguistics background and knowledge of historical phonological processes, I can also teach you to develop the phonetic awareness necessary for acquiring the phonology of your target language. Whether your goal is to have a near native-sounding accent, to accurately reproduce a historical reconstructed pronunciation, or simply to be understood, our lessons together will be tailored to your unique interests and goals.
